A man accused of holding a woman captive is now facing new scrutiny in connection with the unexplained disappearances of two other women from the area, according to the West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Thomas Morris, 43, was arrested and booked on charges of second-degree kidnapping and false imprisonment after deputies responded to a call Sunday evening reporting that he was allegedly keeping a woman against her will. Officers took him into custody and moved the woman to safety.
Following the arrest, Sheriff Brian Spillman confirmed that Morris is now considered a person of interest in the cases of Stephanie Hevia and Madison Allen, both of whom vanished under separate circumstances in recent years.
A Mother’s Long Search for Answers
Allen, a mother of three from Zachary, was 32 years old when her family last heard from her in late 2023. Since then, her mother, identified as Rollins, has spent years pushing for answers, posting on social media, hanging missing person flyers, and offering rewards for any leads.
Rollins told WBRZ she personally filed the missing persons report and has spent years knocking on doors and reaching out to everyone her daughter knew, hoping someone would come forward with information.
When she learned that Morris had been named a person of interest in her daughter’s case, Rollins said the news brought on a flood of emotions. She described feeling shocked but also hopeful, saying she is holding onto the possibility that this development could finally lead to bringing her daughter home.
Second Family Reacts to New Development
Rollins has also stayed in contact with the relatives of Stephanie Hevia, who was reported missing since August 2025. According to family members, Hevia was last seen in the St. Francisville area in the company of Morris before she disappeared.
In the wake of Monday’s announcement, Hevia’s family released a statement saying their thoughts remain with Stephanie and with any other potential victims. They also expressed gratitude that renewed attention is bringing more awareness to her story.
Investigators have not released additional details about how Morris may be connected to either woman’s disappearance, and no additional charges have been filed at this time in relation to Hevia or Allen. The case remains under investigation.
